1. Install the Windows app
Download the signed installer using the button above. ProofFlick is for Windows 10 and 11, with an x64 installer. Your licence covers up to 3 devices. The full trial lasts 14 days and does not need a payment card.
The publisher is Capital Films Limited. If you are unsure about an installation warning, see installation support.
2. Connect your AI-provider account
An API key lets ProofFlick send a request to your chosen AI provider under your account. Paste the key only into ProofFlick's provider settings. Do not send it to support or include it in a screenshot.
If you already have a supported API account, use that provider's key. Otherwise, Groq offers a free tier with usage limits. Follow Groq's official account and key guide, then select Groq in ProofFlick and check the connection. You do not need to follow the guide's programming examples to use ProofFlick.
Provider access is separate from the app licence. Check whether your existing AI subscription includes API access; do not assume it does. Paid models and usage are billed by the provider.
3. Make one useful correction
- Open a short, non-sensitive draft in your usual Windows application.
- Select the text before using the proofreading shortcut shown in ProofFlick.
- Choose Proof only and review the suggested changes.
- Use Copy or Replace as supported by your application, then check the final text.
Start with a sentence or two. Try writing profiles and rewrite modes once the basic workflow is familiar.
4. Set up dictation separately
Proofreading and dictation have different provider options. Configure speech through Groq or Deepgram in the dictation settings, select your microphone and use the shortcut shown in the app. Focus the intended text field and start with a short sentence. Review the transcript before relying on it.
If you get stuck
- Key not recognised: check you selected the matching provider and copied the key correctly.
- Rate limit: wait and retry. A temporary limit does not itself mean you need to pay.
- No dictation: check the microphone, speech-provider settings and intended text field.
- Different application behaviour: consult the compatibility notes.
5. Decide after using it on real work
Try the workflow across several working days. Check the quality, applications you rely on and provider usage. If ProofFlick earns its place, buy the one-time licence and use the key emailed after purchase to activate it. There is no automatic subscription at the end of the trial.
